Trad skills workshop2: Building Anchors & belaying from the top - Sunday 29th March

This workshop will cover building solid, safe anchors at single pitch venues using trad gear, plus how to belay from the top of the crag.

This workshop requires prior knowledge of trad gear - book onto the earlier workshop if you have any knowledge gaps.

This workshop will cover:

  • how to choose the right gear to build anchors depending on what’s available

  • the fundamental elements of anchors in any situation

  • how to belay from the top of the crag (so you don’t have to lead up a route first)

Time: 12-1.30pm

Date: Sunday 29th March

Location: Fairlop Waters Boulder Park

Equipment needed: harness, belay device, extra screwgate carabiner (I have spares)

Experience needed: knowledge of trad gear, how to tie in and belay

Please note these workshops are all ground-based. We do not need to physically get on top of the boulders at Fairlop to learn the skills!

T&Cs: Each workshop is strictly limited to 6 people in order to maximise individual learning.

No refunds, name changes are allowed. 

The closest car park is right next to the boulders, don’t use the main Fairlop Waters car park (10 minutes walk away). This is a RingGo pay car park.

The closest toilets and cafe are a 10 minute walk away, please plan accordingly.
