Learn to Lead Trad - 2 day course 11-12 July 2026

This Learn To Lead Trad climbing course covers essential topics for climbing on lead with traditional protection. A 2-day course means more time to learn & consolidate knowledge & skills. Topics can be tailored towards your own goals where possible - please contact me to discuss specifics.

Location: Peak District (nr Hathersage)

Topics to include:

• Trad gear options, placement & testing

• Building solid anchors

• Belaying from above

• Movement & technique coaching

• Gritstone-specific skills eg hand jams, smearing

• Guidebook use and access to crags

• Abseiling with a prussik (optional)

• Simple problem avoidance and solving

You must have your own climbing harness, shoes, and be able to tie in and belay.

Accommodation is not included in the price, but can be arranged in a nearby bunkhouse if required, subject to availability & price.

Travel to Hathersage is not included; local pickup can be arranged (subject to location) by prior agreement.
